Tour Description

This one-day adventure takes you through some of Scotland's most iconic scenery – to reach the iconic and beautiful Isle of Skye. You’ll also get to explore Eilean Donan Castle before we return to Inverness.

An enjoyable journey to Skye...

There are fabulous views over the Moray Firth to take in as we leave Inverness over the Kessock Bridge. You’ll enjoy a comfort break in the lovely Kyle of Lochalsh, just situated on the mainland with views to the Skye Bridge.

Over the Sea to Skye...

Next you’ll cross onto the little island of Eilean Ban, where Gavin Maxwell, the author of the "Ring of Bright Water", lived for a while before you cross over the bridge to Skye. Your tour of this magical island takes in the stunningly beautiful sight of the Cuillin Hills and the Sligachan Bridge on the road to Portree, the capital of Skye. This will be your lunch-time stop, where you can enjoy fish and chips in the colourful harbour – just watch out for the seagulls!

Discover Scotland’s most iconic Castle; Eilean Donan*...

This is one of Scotland's most picturesque castles and is perched on its own island at the head of Loch Duich. You will have enough time here to tour the castle inside and out.

Homeward Bound via Loch Ness...

Your day ends with a bit of monster spotting as you drive along the shore of Loch Ness. You'll then stop close to the loch at the little village of Invermoriston, where you can take in the views and see a delightful ruined bridge which was designed by Thomas Telford, the same engineer who created the Caledonian Canal.

Tour Reviews

My mother and I took the Isle of Skye, Eileen Donan Castle trip. It was spectacular! Richie, our guide was so fun. He not only told us of the sights, he also told folk stories and played music which made the tour that much better.

Went 27th September. Brilliant tour. Vicky the guide was excellent, so many facts and anecdotes about the area and places we were going through she really made the trip. Plenty of time at all the stops to have a good look round. Even the highland Coos. Would recommend this to anyone.

We took the day tour from Inverness to the Isle of Skye and Eileen Donan Castle and had a wonderful time. Ritchie, our tour guide, was knowledgable, friendly, and enthusiastic, and he knew when to stop for great pictures, history and scenery. It may have been rainy and windy when we went, but we still had a lovely time exploring some truly remarkable areas of Scotland that are absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend Highland Experience and thank you to Ritchie for brightening our spirits with your historical tales and Gaelic music on a grey Scottish day!
