Tour Description

A perfect mix of all things Scottish; castles, lochs and whisky!

Explore Stirling Castle and City...

As you drive north-east out of Edinburgh you can marvel at the engineering feat that are The Kelpies, two 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures. Then, as you are travelling through Stirlingshire, our guide will bring to life the turbulent times of William Wallace - dramatised in the film Braveheart - and explain his link to the countryside you're passing through. We'll stop at the beautiful city of Stirling for about two hours. This gives you ample time to explore the stunning castle* or stroll through the beautiful and ancient streets that surround it.

Scotland’s biggest Loch and through the National Park…

Our route then takes you over the Duke’s Pass where you will experience dramatic views of the Trossachs National Park and its Lochs, home of the Highland rogue Rob Roy. We then make our way to Aberfoyle, a small holiday village at the southern edge of the West Highland Fault and the heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, for lunch. Finishing off our time in Loch Lomond, we visit the beautiful  loch side village of Balmaha where you can take a short but steep hike up to Craigie Fort to enjoy stunning views of the loch, or enjoy the bonnie banks on flat ground.

A taste of Scottish Spirit at Glengoyne...

Our final stop is one of Scotland’s prettiest distilleries, Glengoyne*. Here you can learn the process of how they create the perfect dram, and you can taste a couple too! If you are not   interested in whisky, you can walk to the nearby Dumgoyne Hill and take in the stunning waterfall and tranquil secret glen that sits behind the distillery.

Tour Reviews

Sergio was great at making our trip relaxed, full of fun and facts and really a great day overall. Each of the places we visited was just the right amount of time to see it but not so long that we felt like we had to stand around. Even with the kids he was attentive to their needs and always made sure to include them which was great on this tour because we would be somewhere for an hour then ride for 20-30 minutes and then again so the kids could break it up, and the adults could enjoy too! The distillery tour was great! Fun for all ages!

The trip had a great mix. First, a balance between different types of attractions, like historical, natural and drinks. Then, good ratio time on the road versus time at objectives. The time at each objective was decent. The guide Garry was funny and pleasant, good management of his driver duties as well. We chose them because they take kids.

The tour was really wonderful, and each stop was well planned. We had enough time in each location, and with it being a lovely day Steven B took this into account and asked the group if they wanted to go to Loch Lomond earlier so we could spend more time there. He was attentive, funny and gave a really detailed insight into Scottish history. Perfect tour even for locals! Will definitely recommend to all.
