The stunning Glenfinnan (Harry Potter) viaduct is a key highlight, but the journey offers much more. Experience a day filled with cinematic history, breath-taking nature, expansive landscapes, as we take you to our best mountains and lochs!
Loch Lomond And The Trossachs National Park – The “Gateway To the Highlands”
Our first stop takes us into the east side of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and have a refreshing break. Experience breath-taking views of lochs and mountains in the lush countryside as we ascend further into the park.
Glencoe – Majestic Peaks and History
Our journey continues through the picturesque county of Argyll and Bute, leading us into the Highlands where you’ll encounter the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor, Britain’s largest moorland. From there, we venture into the rugged landscapes of Glencoe, a stunning part of the Caledonian Mountain range.
Discover the intriguing geology of this ancient, extinct super volcano that erupted 420 million years ago, shaping the dramatic mountains we see today. You’ll also learn about the tragic history of the Glencoe Massacre. And for Harry Potter fans, these three iconic peaks served as the backdrop for the final battle at Hogwarts!
Fort William – Discover This Charming Town At The Start Of The Great Glen.
Enjoy lunch in the charming town of Fort William, located at the foot of the Nevis Range. Explore the historic remnants of the old army barracks that once protected the town, stroll along the scenic shores of Loch Linnhe, a beautiful sea loch marking the beginning of the Great Glen, and try products from the local cafes and shops before we continue our journey.
Glenfinnan Viaduct – Relive The Movie Magic Of The Hogwarts Express!
We will arrive at Glenfinnan, the pinnacle of our journey! Here you will be able to see the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which was engineered by Thomas Telford, and the Jacobite Monument.
Traverse the nearby trails to see the best views of the viaduct and have a chance to see the Jacobite Steam Train as it crosses over*; Harry Potter fans will recognise this iconic structure from “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”.Take a stroll down to the shores of Loch Shiel and marvel at the Glenfinnan Monument; the site where Bonnie Prince Charlie first raised his royal standard in the Jacobite Uprisings of 1745.
(Please note that the train will be in operation from 5th May- 26th September 2025. On days where the train is not in operation, you will still have the opportunity to see the viaduct.)
Visit Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest Loch!
On the return journey, we’ll travel through the western side of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, offering stunning views of Loch Lomond, the largest loch in Scotland.
We’ll make a stop at Luss, a charming conservation village known for its historic cottages, beautifully preserved to reflect the area’s rich heritage. Take a leisurely walk along the shores of Loch Lomond, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of this iconic location.
